The aim of Project 6 is to have wine tasting over the period of the Annual Dover Film
There will be Wine Tasting over the period of 24 Annual Dover Film. There will be no charge but only a 25ml measurer per person is allowed. Anyone under 18 are not permitted to taste the wine.
From 1974, Ray Warner received a grant from Dover District Council. Prior to this year the grant came from Dover Borough Council so he covered the District rather than Dover Town
In the 1983 Dover Film Ray filmed a vineyard in Staple. Bill Ash established and ran Staple St James Vineyard from 1973 to 1993 when he sadly died from a dementia related illness. Bill’s son’s didn’t see a future in English wine at that time and the vineyard was grubbed up and the land and buildings opposite the church of Staple St James in Staple was sold to a local farming family called Lasslett.
We want people attending to taste 25ml measurer of fine English wine from Barnsole Staple.
