Project 22 – Daughters of Dover Bridge
There is a reason for this to be project 22 because the idea is to have 22 steps to a bridge in the Beacon to go across Townwall Street and a further 22 steps down to the car park which was the Dover Stage. Each step would carry the name of a daughter of Dover.
The daughters of Dover were an idea used in the 1908 Dover Pageant. Mother Dover and 43 other Dovers were paraded at the Pageant. The view of the White Cliffs of Dover and Dover Castle from the bridge will be stunning
The underpass and the project to give it a facelift is still important. A lift in the Beacon would give people with mobility problems the opportunity to enjoy the view.
Future Foundry are looking at parading the Dovers with their very successful lanterns.
The Annual Dover Film will be selling T-Shirts for £15.00 with 45 Dovers printed on the back of the T-Shirts
